Chief of Army Staff Visits UN Peacekeeping Mission in Central African Republic

Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman, SBP, OSP, SGP, PSC, departed from Dhaka today, Monday (March 3, 2025), on a three-day official visit to the Central African Republic. During his visit, he will inspect the activities of the Bangladeshi contingents deployed in the Central African Republic as well as the operations carried out by Bangladeshi peacekeepers stationed there.

Additionally, as part of Bangladesh Army’s humanitarian efforts, the Chief of Army Staff is scheduled to inaugurate a community clinic built by Bangladeshi peacekeepers for the local population.

Notably, Bangladesh currently has five contingents deployed in the UN peacekeeping mission in the Central African Republic. Since 2014, a total of 9,961 Bangladeshi military personnel have served as peacekeepers in the conflict-ridden country, with 11 personnel making the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
