The 4th meeting of the Advisory Committee of the 13th National Parliament was held under the chairmanship of the Speaker

The 4th meeting of the Advisory Committee of the 13th National Parliament was held today, Thursday (August 27, 2026) in the Cabinet Room of the National Parliament Building. The Chairman of the Committee, Speaker of the National Parliament of Bangladesh Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram, MP, presided over the meeting.

Committee member, Leader of Parliament and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, MP participated in the meeting. The meeting was also attended by committee members, Leader of the Opposition Dr. Md. Shafiqur Rahman, MP; Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, MP; Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, MP; Local Government Minister Dr. Abdul Moin Khan, MP; Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, MP; Chief Whip Md. Nurul Islam, MP; Law Minister Md. Asaduzzaman, MP; Deputy Leader of the Opposition Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, MP; ATM Azharul Islam, MP and Chief Whip of the Opposition Md. Nahid Islam, MP participated in the meeting. Barrister Kaiser Kamal, MP, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, participated in the meeting at the special invitation of the Speaker.

The meeting discussed the allocation of time for the completion of the work of the third (third of 2026) session of the Thirteenth National Assembly and the duration of the session. The meeting discussed the possible dates and possible scope of the sessions for the next one year.

The meeting decided that the sessions will be held at 03:00 PM every day except public holidays and 31 August and 1 September and that the third session of the Thirteenth National Assembly will end on 10 September 2026.

The Speaker is empowered to change any matter related to the time and working day of the session, if necessary.

A total of 2818 questions were received in this session, including 142 for the Prime Minister and 2676 for other ministers. 81 notices of attention were received under Rule-71 and 249 notices were received under the number of motions for decisions (Rule-131).

Barrister Md. Golam Sarwar Bhuiyan, Secretary of the Parliament Secretariat, provided secretarial support to the meeting. Senior officials of the Parliament Secretariat were present in the meeting.
