The two countries have expressed their determination to take bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia to new heights. On the sidelines of the 23rd OIC (OIC) Extraordinary Meeting of Foreign Ministers held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, today, Thursday (August 27, 2026), the Honorable State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, Humayun Kabir, met with the Saudi Foreign Minister, HH Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

During the meeting, the State Minister for Foreign Affairs handed over a letter sent by the Honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh to the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, HRH Mohammed bin Salman.
In the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the recent positive progress in Bangladesh-Saudi Arabia bilateral relations and reiterated their commitment to further strengthen the existing partnership.
The State Minister for Foreign Affairs said that several high-level visits have been held between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia since the formation of the BNP-led government. These visits have created new opportunities to further advance extensive cooperation between the two countries in various fields. He also mentioned possible high-level visits between the two countries in the future.
The Saudi Foreign Minister said that Bangladesh is one of the priority countries of Saudi Arabia. He particularly emphasized on further strengthening economic cooperation. Mentioning the growing interest of Saudi companies in Bangladesh, he expressed his interest in further increasing investment and business engagement between the two countries.
At the time, the Saudi Foreign Minister also appreciated the valuable contribution of the Bangladeshi diaspora in the development of Saudi Arabia.
In the meeting, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir invited the Saudi Foreign Minister to visit Bangladesh at his convenient time.
Saudi Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Engineer Walid Abdulkarim Al-Khereizi, Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the OIC and senior officials of both countries were present in the meeting.
This meeting is seen as an important development in the continuation of existing relations between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia in various fields, including labor market, investment, trade, energy and economic cooperation.
