Two Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs) of Bangladesh Police have been appointed as Directors of the National Security Intelligence (NSI) under the Prime Minister’s Office.
The appointment was announced in a gazette notification issued on Sunday (August 23) by the Ministry of Public Administration. The notification was signed by Mohammad Nur-E-Alam, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry’s Deputation-1 Branch, on behalf of the President.
The newly appointed NSI Directors are Md. Aminul Islam, DIG of Rangpur Range, and Dr. Mohammad Abdul Kader, DIG of the Special Branch (SB) of Bangladesh Police.
According to the notification, the two senior police officers have been appointed to the NSI Director posts on deputation.
Their appointments are expected to further strengthen the agency’s leadership and its role in national security and intelligence-related activities.
