Voting for the 23rd Presidential Election on August 20

Desk Report:

The voting for the 23rd Presidential Election of the country will be held on August 20. Election Commission (EC) Secretary Akhtar Ahmed confirmed this information at a press conference held at the Election Building on Thursday (August 6).

According to the announced schedule, nomination papers for the presidential election can be submitted from 10 am to 4 pm on August 13. The selection of nomination papers will be done on August 16. The last time for withdrawal of candidacy has been set for August 18.

Voting will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm on August 20. As part of the legal process, members of parliament will elect the country’s new President by exercising their voting rights in the designated session room of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.

Members of the Jatiya Sangsad participate in the presidential election as voters. The Election Commission will conduct the necessary activities as the election officer for the presidential election. After the process of submission of nomination papers, selection and withdrawal of candidacy, the vote will be held among the final candidates.

According to the scheduled schedule, the country’s 23rd President will be elected by members of parliament on August 20.
