Ambassador of Algeria to Bangladesh paid a courtesy call on Foreign Affairs Adviser

Dr. Abdelouahab Saidani, Ambassador of Algeria to Bangladesh paid a courtesy call on the Hon’ble Adviser for Foreign Affairs Md. Touhid Hossain at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday (10 December 2024). During their meeting, Hon’ble Adviser congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment as the Ambassador of Algeria to Bangladesh.

The discussions centered on strengthening bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries with particular emphasis on cooperations in the field of energy, education, trade, investment and agriculture.

Ambassador Saidani proposed formation of an Intergovernmental Joint Committee between Bangladesh and Algeria for holding discussions and consultations on issues of common interests. He emphasized on holding of a high level bilateral visit between the two countries the soonest possible.

Signing of a good number of MoUs/ agreements between Bangladesh and Algeria was also explored during the meeting which includes Air Services between Dhaka- Algiers, exchange programme between Foreign Service Academies of both the countries etc.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing bilateral mechanisms, including convening of the next round of Foreign Office Consultations to be held in Algiers at an early date.
