Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives and BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that the presidential election will be held on time as per the country’s constitution and the scheduled schedule.
He said this in response to questions from journalists after inaugurating the divisional office of the Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB) in the Terminal area of Rangpur city at 10:30 am on Monday (July 27, 2026).
In response to a question from journalists regarding the presidential election, Mirza Fakhrul said, “The presidential election will be held on time. Candidates for the post of President will be nominated as per the party’s decision.”
Senior officials of the local administration, public representatives and officials from various departments were present at the inauguration ceremony of the new divisional office of the BRDB.
