State Minister for Land and Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin has said that all the ongoing digital services and software of the Land Ministry have been developed using completely indigenous technology and with the talent and labor of Bangladeshi engineers. Even the inventor of an important software prepared at an affordable cost is a student of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET).
State Minister Mir Mohammad Helal gave this information while speaking as the chief guest at the orientation ceremony of the first-year undergraduate course of the 2025-26 academic year of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) on Thursday (July 2, 2026).
The State Minister sincerely congratulated the new students and said that by getting the opportunity of higher education at CUET, the students have joined a unique and special part of the country’s talent. To make this new chapter of life meaningful, students must continue their deep perseverance, research-oriented approach and efforts to enrich themselves constantly.
Referring to the reputation of Bangladeshi engineers on the world stage, the State Minister said that the Chuetians are working efficiently in world-renowned global organizations like Google, Amazon, Tesla, Siemens and Samsung, brightening the image of the country. He expressed deep optimism that the current students will also prove their worth on the world stage one day with their talent.
Highlighting the modernization and digital transformation of the Ministry of Land, the State Minister said that with the help of the ‘Bhoomi App’, citizens can now easily receive various important services including land development tax payment, name mutation and e-parcha from home. In addition, the ‘Bhoomi Drishti’ app based on geofencing technology is being used to monitor the presence of field-level officials and employees at work and overall activities.
Urging the youth to stay away from the clutches of drugs, Mir Helal said that success-failure or joy-pain may come in student life, but under no circumstances should one step on the path of drugs. Drugs can never be a solution to any crisis; rather, it permanently stifles human talent, unlimited potential and bright future. He advised the students to overcome all adversities with a confident and positive mindset.
The program was presided over by Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, Director of the Department of Student Welfare of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology, and was attended by CUET Vice Chancellor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan as the ‘Guest of Honor’.
