President Mohammad Shahabuddin has called on Morocco to hire more skilled and semi-skilled Bangladeshi workers in various sectors including healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure development, ready-made garments, textiles and information and communication technology (ICT) sectors.
He made the call when the newly appointed Moroccan Ambassador to Bangladesh, Lalla Boutaina El Kardoudi El Koulali, formally presented his credentials to the President at Bangabhaban on Tuesday (June 9, 2026).
The President’s Press Secretary Sarwar Alam said that during the meeting, the President said that there is a huge potential for expanding trade and investment between Bangladesh and Morocco. He emphasized the need for high-level delegation visits and increased mutual communication at the government and private levels to further strengthen the economic relations between the two countries.
The President said that the existing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Morocco are excellent and are getting stronger with time. He expressed hope to take the friendly relations between the two countries to new heights by increasing cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.
The meeting discussed various issues of mutual interest between the two countries and both sides expressed interest in further expanding Bangladesh-Morocco relations.
