On the occasion of Russia Day, the Russian House in Dhaka organized a large cultural event, where representatives of the Russian and Bangladeshi communities, students, alumni, cultural figures and friends of Russia participated in a festive atmosphere.

The event was inaugurated by Alexandra Khlevnoy, Director of the Russian House in Dhaka. She spoke about the historical significance of Russia Day, the cultural diversity of the Russian Federation and the role of cultural exchange in strengthening mutual understanding and friendship between different nations.

Then, Vyacheslav Sentyurin, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bangladesh, spoke. He highlighted the long-standing friendly relations between Russia and Bangladesh and highlighted the importance of cultural and humanitarian cooperation to further strengthen bilateral relations.
The official part of the event featured a multimedia presentation highlighting modern Russia, highlighting the country’s natural beauty, scientific and technological progress, and rich cultural heritage.
The main attraction of the event was the performance of the folk music and dance group “Alabuga” from the Yelabuga College of Culture and Arts in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. Through Russian and Tatar folk music, musical performances, and dance, they presented the rich cultural heritage of various peoples of Russia to the audience.




Internationally renowned musician Razil Gabbasov performed traditional folk instruments at the concert, and Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan Dilyara Mirovayeva performed special music.
A children’s dance group named “Happiness” participated as part of the cultural exchange, whose members are children of Bangladeshi alumni of Soviet universities. Their Bengali traditional dance performance captivated the audience as a symbol of the long-standing friendship between the peoples of Russia and Bangladesh.
Representatives of the Russian indigenous community living in Bangladesh also participated in the event. They recited the song and poem “Glyazhuv Ozio Rasinye” and performed a dance to the popular Russian folk song “Korobeiniki”.
A special part of the event was dedicated to the Republic of Tatarstan, where the audience was introduced to its culture, traditions and capital Kazan.
After the concert, the guests participated in a cultural fair organized on the occasion of Russia Day and visited two exhibitions. The “Multicultural Russia” exhibition showcased the diverse peoples and cultures of Russia, while the “Pristine Russia” exhibition presented the country’s unique natural landscapes and wildlife.
The fair organized a matryoshka painting workshop, a Russian-style photo zone, an exhibition of souvenirs, traditional food and drinks, and various cultural activities.
This celebration reflects the growing interest in Russian culture in Bangladesh and reaffirms the important role of cultural exchange in further strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
