The government has appointed senior banker Mohammad Nurul Amin as the chairman of Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB).
A notification in this regard was issued by the Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance on Sunday (May 24, 2026). The notification said that he has been appointed as the director and chairman of the board of directors of the bank as per Article 7 of the Bangladesh Krishi Bank Order 1973. He will serve in this position for the next three years from the date of joining.
Mohammad Nurul Amin has been associated with the country’s banking sector for more than four decades. He has served as the managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO) of NCC Bank and Meghna Bank.
Earlier, in September 2024, as per the decision of Bangladesh Bank, he was appointed as the chairman of Global Islami Bank. Later, he held that position until the merger process of the bank.
