The Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) and the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SCIP) have signed a landmark agreement to provide training aimed at developing IT skills. The signing ceremony took place on Tuesday at the SCIP headquarters in Eskaton Garden, Dhaka. BASIS President M Rashidul Hasan and SCIP Executive Program Director and Additional Secretary Muhammad Walid Hossain signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) on behalf of their respective organizations.

Under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Finance, the initiative will train 3,000 individuals over the next four years, by 2028, to bolster IT expertise in Bangladesh.
The ceremony was attended by BASIS Vice President (Finance) M Asif Rahman, Director Mir Sharook Islam, and BASIS-BITM Training Coordinator Khaleda Begum from BASIS. Representing SCIP, Dr. Md. Khairuzzaman Mozumdar, Secretary of the Finance Division and National Program Director (NPD), along with Additional Secretary and Deputy Executive Program Director (Program Management) Md. Mahfuzul Alam Khan and other senior SCIP officials, were present.
