EMGS “Study in Malaysia” Education Expo Bangladesh-2026 begins in Dhaka

Diplomatic Desk:

EMGS “Study in Malaysia” Education Expo Bangladesh-2026 has begun in Dhaka to increase interest in higher education in Malaysia among Bangladeshi students. The two-day education fair began on Friday (May 8, 2026) at Hotel Sarina in Banani in the capital and has received a huge response from students and parents.

The fair was officially inaugurated by the Malaysian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Mohd. Shuhada Osman, as the chief guest. The Head of the Malaysian delegation and EMGS Head of South Asia, Moin Uddin Ahmed Khan, members of the delegation and senior officials of the Malaysian High Commission in Dhaka were present at the event.

“Study in Malaysia” Education Expo Bangladesh-2026 is essentially a multi-city initiative, through which reliable and direct information about higher education in Malaysia is being conveyed to Bangladeshi students, parents and professionals.

Twelve renowned universities in Malaysia, including four public universities, are participating in this year’s expo. These institutions are showcasing various programs at the foundation, diploma, bachelor, master, PhD and post-doctoral levels.

After Dhaka, the education fair will be held at The Grand Riverview Hotel in Rajshahi on May 13 and The Peninsula Hotel in Chittagong on May 15.

The organizers said that this expo has created a special opportunity for Bangladeshi professionals interested in studying at the masters, PhD and post-doctoral levels. Malaysian universities offer research-based higher education, international standard supervision, high-impact publications and industry-linked research opportunities.

In addition, highlighting Malaysia as a family-friendly educational destination, the organizers said that qualified students also get the opportunity to bring along dependent family members. The comparatively low cost of living, flexible education system and strong industry linkages have made Malaysia a realistic and strategic destination for career development.

As part of the official visit, the Malaysian delegation will pay a courtesy call on the Bangladesh Education Minister on May 11. They will also participate in the Bangladesh-Malaysia Higher Education Networking Session organized in collaboration with the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh on May 18.

Simultaneously, a high-level networking session organized by the Malaysian government will be held at the Six Seasons Hotel, where vice-chancellors and senior officials of public and private universities of the two countries will participate. The CEO of EMGS, the Malaysian High Commissioner, senior officials of the UGC and the Ministry of Education, and media representatives will also be present.

According to the organizers, through this expo, students are getting reliable guidance on various issues including the opportunity to talk directly with university representatives, admission and scholarship information, tuition fees, student visa processes, compliance and welfare services. Malaysia is further strengthening its position as a global education hub through its international quality education, affordable costs, multicultural environment, and strong industry connections.
