The Embassy of Nepal organized a colorful ‘Wellness Walk’ program in Dhaka on Wednesday (15 April 2026) morning on the occasion of International Wellness Day. Organized under the theme ‘Harmony with Mind, Body, and Nature’, the program aimed to increase awareness about Wellness Day and highlight the importance of balance and harmony between the individual and nature.
A 45-minute walk was held at the event. This was followed by a short formal session and a traditional Nepali ‘Wellness Breakfast’.

Nepal Ambassador Ghanshyam Bhandari spoke at the event. He said that in the current world, the importance of wellness is increasing day by day in the context of various challenges including war and conflict, economic inequality, social division and climate crisis. He highlighted the centuries-old Hindu, Buddhist, Yogic and indigenous lifestyle practices embedded in Nepal’s history and civilization, which emphasize self-control, ethical living and harmony with nature.

Ambassador Ghanshyam Bhandari also said that the Nepalese government has planned to celebrate 2027 as the ‘Nepal Wellness Year’. Through this, it aims to develop wellness tourism as a powerful means of sustainable economic development. Along with this, he also reiterated his hope to establish Nepal as a global wellness hub.

Nepali organic food was served to the guests at the event, which included various nutritious foods including millet pancakes, black lentil pancakes, buckwheat momos and satuko sharbat.
