Desk Report:

Acting President Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram has said that the most important and sacred responsibility of the current government is to take care of the families of the martyrs of the July Uprising and ensure the treatment and rehabilitation of the injured.

He said, “The most important task of this government of Bangladesh is to take care of the families of those who sacrificed their lives in July. This is the most sacred responsibility. It is the sacred responsibility of the government to rehabilitate those who were injured, lost their eyesight or lost their limbs.”

He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at the reception and discussion meeting of the July Martyr Families and July Warriors organized at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in the capital on the occasion of ‘July Uprising Day 2026’ on Wednesday (August 5, 2026).

The Acting President said that the great July Uprising Day is an unforgettable day written in golden letters in the history of the nation. It is a symbol of the victory of the freedom-loving students and masses in protecting democracy, justice and human dignity. He said that on this day in 2024, in the face of the mass uprising of the students and masses, the long-standing dictatorial and fascist rule came to an end and a new chapter began for the country.

He remembered with deep respect all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the July mass uprising, including Abu Sayeed, Mughd, Wasim, Yamin, Farhan, Nafiz, Sajal, Rabbi, Meraj, Elem, Taim, Naima, children Riya Gop and Ahad. At the same time, he prayed for the forgiveness of their souls and said that the sacrifice and patriotism of the martyrs will forever inspire future generations.
