Thai Ambassador to Bangladesh Thitiporn Chirasawadi, who is posted at the Ministry of Industries, paid a courtesy call on Industries Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir on Tuesday (April 7, 2026). During the meeting, various issues of mutual interest were discussed, especially enhancing bilateral cooperation in the industrial sector, expanding investment, transferring Thai technology to increase productivity in the agriculture and fisheries sectors, and the potential for developing small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
The Industries Minister said that there is ample scope to further strengthen trade and investment relations between Bangladesh and Thailand. Joint initiatives can be taken, especially in the industrial sectors related to food processing, light engineering and tourism.
He noted that the government’s industry-friendly policies and infrastructural development have created a favorable environment for foreign investment in Bangladesh. He urged Thai investors to utilize this opportunity.
The Thai ambassador, while mentioning the investment potential in Bangladesh, said that the rapid economic progress of Bangladesh is very attractive for investors. He commented that the industrial and commercial relations between the two countries can be further expanded.
At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed optimism about joint ventures, exchange of business delegations and continued regular dialogue in the future. Among others, the Secretary of the Ministry, Md. Obaidur Rahman, and senior officials of the Ministry and the Embassy were present.
