Bangladesh Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Advisor Humayun Kabir met Omani Foreign Minister Saeed Badr bin Hamad bin Hamud Al-Busaidi on Wednesday (April 1, 2026) and handed over a personal letter addressed to Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman on behalf of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

In the letter, the Prime Minister expressed Bangladesh’s solidarity with the leadership, government and brotherly people of Oman in the context of the current regional situation. The Prime Minister expressed deep concern over the attacks on Oman and the loss of lives and property. He expressed deep gratitude for the continued support of the Omani government for the steps taken to ensure the safety and well-being of the large number of Bangladeshis residing in Oman. The Prime Minister pledged to stand by the Omani government in any need they may have.

During the meeting, the Foreign Advisor appreciated Oman’s constructive role in mediating the dispute between Iran and the United States and promoting peace, dialogue and diplomacy in the region. The excellent bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Oman also came up during the discussion and ways to further strengthen cooperation in various sectors of mutual interest were discussed.
The Foreign Advisor, as the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy, is visiting several Gulf countries to express sympathy for the countries of the region and further strengthen Bangladesh’s engagement with them.
