Desk Report:

Education Minister Dr. A.N.M. Ehsanul Haque Milon has said that teachers are the nation’s ‘Chiropractic Doctors’, who develop the country’s future generations. If education is the backbone of the nation, then the responsibility of keeping that backbone straight lies with teachers. Teachers must fulfill their moral and professional responsibilities properly despite various limitations and challenges.

Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr. A.N.M. Ehsanul Haque Milon made these remarks as the chief guest at the inauguration of the training program titled ‘Induction Training for Non-Cadre Teachers of Newly Nationalized Government Colleges’ organized at the National Academy of Education Management (NAEM) in the capital on Sunday (March 29, 2026).

The Education Minister also said that the call to build the future Bangladesh is not the sole agenda of any individual or government; Rather, it is a national commitment. The role of teachers is important in achieving this goal. He told the teachers that they should be raised by considering students as their children.

Referring to various structural limitations of the education system, the Minister said that the long process of SSC and HSC examinations – especially when educational institutions complete the classes and examinations of the candidates by December 31, the education boards conduct these two public examinations in April and June of the following year instead of December of that year. Due to this, the valuable time of the students is being wasted, which is causing great loss at the national level. He stressed the need for effective reforms in this regard.

The Minister instructed the teachers participating in the training to submit their recommendations in writing after the training, so that the training program can be further improved in the future.
