Desk Report:
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has issued the following message on the occasion of ‘Holy Eid-ul-Fitr’:
“On the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, I extend my heartfelt greetings and Eid Mubarak to all Muslims around the world, including the countrymen.
Eid-ul-Fitr is one of the two biggest religious festivals of Muslims. After a month-long fasting and restraint, the holy Eid-ul-Fitr brings a message of joy, peace, harmony and brotherhood to our lives.
The holy month of Ramadan teaches us a unique lesson of restraint, sacrifice, service and self-purification. The fasting of a month teaches us to be self-restraint and feel the pain of others. Through this, the spirit of compassion and mutual cooperation is awakened in the society.
The real significance of Eid is to reflect the lessons of Ramadan in the life of the individual, family, society and the state. Eid is a time for us to forget all the differences between rich and poor, small and big, and to show mutual love and Calls for a bond of brotherhood.
On this joyous day, let us stand by the helpless, poor and underprivileged people of the society and share the joy of Eid with everyone—this is our pledge.
We hope that the holy Eid-ul-Fitr will further strengthen our bond of national unity, mutual harmony and compassion.
Let us, inspired by the great ideals of Eid, work together to build a humane, developed, peaceful and prosperous Bangladesh.
I pray to the Almighty Allah that He may shower the joy, mercy and blessings of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr on all of our lives.
May the Almighty Allah lead our country and nation forward on the path of peace, progress and prosperity and ensure the welfare of the entire Muslim Ummah.”
