A public meeting and Iftar Mahfil have been organized by Gazipur Metropolitan Police on the occasion of Inspector General of Bangladesh Police (IGP) Md. Ali Hossain Fakir’s arrival in Gazipur.
Honorable Member of Parliament from Gazipur-2 constituency M. Manjurul Karim Rony was present as the chief guest at the event organized at Gazipur District Police Lines on Saturday (March 14, 2026).
Police Commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police Md. Israel Howlader, DIG of Dhaka Range Rezaul Karim Mallick and senior officials of various units of Bangladesh Police were present at the event. Local public representatives, dignitaries and representatives of the civil society also participated in it.
Important discussions were held at the meeting on the overall law and order situation in Gazipur Metropolitan City, increasing mutual cooperation between the police and the public, and further dynamizing public service activities.
Later, the guests present at the Iftar Mahfil organized on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan participated in Iftar together. Before Iftar, special prayers and supplications were offered to ensure the peace, prosperity of the country and the nation and the overall security of Gazipur Metropolitan City.
Additional Police Commissioner (Administration and Finance) Mohammad Taherul Haque Chauhan, Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) Mohammad Belayet Hossain, Deputy Police Commissioners, police officers from various units, and journalists from print and electronic media were present at the event.
