Ministry of Expatriate Welfare has set up a control room for the welfare of expatriates in the midst of war in the Middle East

The Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment has set up a control room to ensure the welfare of expatriates in the midst of war in the Middle East.

According to the office order issued by the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment on March 9, 2026, this control room will be open from 8 am to 8 pm every day from March 10 (Tuesday) to March 16 (Monday). Officers and employees will work in 3 shifts.

The control room has been set up at Expatriate Call Center, Lift-7, Expatriate Welfare Bhaban, Eskaton, Dhaka.

Due to the ongoing war situation, any Bangladeshi migrant worker can contact the ministry’s hotline number +8809610102030 around the clock.

The issued office order further states that Barrister Md. Golam Sarwar Bhuiyan, Director General of the Wage Earners Welfare Board, will be responsible for the overall management of the control room, and Md. Hedayetul Islam Mandal, Deputy Secretary of the Employment-1 Branch of the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare, will be the focal point officer of the control room.

The office order also mentions as a scope of work that from today, the officers on duty in the control room will maintain contact with the labor welfare wing abroad, if necessary, considering the war situation in the Middle East.
