GMP Commissioner Israel Hawlader gives instructions for safe Eid journey of homebound people

Desk Report:

To ensure smooth and safe journey of homebound people on the occasion of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Fitr, a meeting was held with the leaders of the Bus Owners Association and Workers’ Union at the initiative of Gazipur Metropolitan Police.

The meeting held on Monday (March 9, 2026) was presided over by Gazipur Metropolitan Police Police Commissioner Md. Israel Hawlader.

In the meeting, the Police Commissioner provided necessary guidelines to make the journey of homebound people safe, comfortable and disciplined on the occasion of Eid. He discussed in detail with the leaders of the bus owners and workers’ union about maintaining smooth transport management, stopping excessive fare collection, reducing traffic congestion and ensuring maximum service to passengers.

Additional Police Commissioner (Administration and Finance) Mohammad Taherul Haque Chauhan, Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) Mohammad Belayet Hossain, Deputy Police Commissioners and leaders of Gazipur Bus Owners Association and Workers Union were present at the meeting.

All the parties concerned expressed their determination to work together to make the Eid journey smooth, safe and passenger-friendly.
