Gazipur Deputy Commissioner Mr. Mohammad Alam Hossain paid deep tribute to the language martyrs on the first hour of the great Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day. He paid this tribute by placing a wreath at the Gazipur Central Shahid Minar at 12:01 am on Friday.
The sacrifice, awareness and democratic struggle that the Bengali nation set for the dignity of the Bengali language and the recognition of the state language on February 21, 1952, has been remembered as a glorious chapter in the history of the nation. Recalling the significance of that historic day, the Deputy Commissioner paid humble tribute to the language martyrs.
After placing the wreath, he stood in silence for a while and showed deep respect for the memory of the martyrs of the language movement. Officials and employees of various government departments, political leaders, and representatives of social and cultural organizations were also present at the time.
