Students from seven colleges block roads, traffic at 3 places in Dhaka

Students from seven colleges have blocked intersections at 3 places in the capital, demanding the promulgation of the proposed Dhaka Central University ordinance.

They started the blockade program at around 1:45 pm on Thursday (January 15, 2026). Traffic in the Science Lab, Technical intersection and Tantibazar intersection areas was stopped.

Students from Dhaka College, Eden Mohila College, Begum Badrunnesa Government Mohila College, Shaheed Suhrawardy College, Kabi Nazrul Government College, Government Bangla College and Titumir College participated in the program.

Meanwhile, traffic has been stopped on Mirpur Road and other nearby roads due to the road blockade. People are suffering due to this. Unable to find a car, they are walking to their destinations.
