BNP will move forward with the people by following the ideals of Begum Khaleda Zia: Dr. M A Quayum

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) nominated parliamentary candidate and former founding president of Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP and party’s Microfinance Affairs Secretary Dr. M A Quayum said, Begum Khaleda Zia has taught us how to fight against injustice and how to continue the uncompromising struggle with our heads held high. We will move forward with the people by following her long path of sacrifice and struggle—InshaAllah.

He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at a program to pray for the eternal peace of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia and distribute winter clothes in Khilgaon Taltola Society area of the capital on Sunday (January 4, 2026).

Dr. M A Quayum said, BNP has always prioritized the welfare and empowerment of women. If given the opportunity to go to parliament in the future, an effective role will be played to ensure women’s education, health, employment and social security. He said, women are half the power of society – sustainable development is never possible without this power.

He also said that BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has taken a plan to implement various social and economic programs with the importance of women. Initiatives are being taken to ensure special facilities for women from poor and middle-class families, including family cards, so that women can stand with more respect in the family and society.

Noting that women are the most affected by the current economic inequality, unemployment and insecurity in the country, Dr. M A Quayum said that if BNP comes to power, it will increase employment for women, ensure a safe working environment and strengthen social security. In addition, a strict stance will be taken against all kinds of violence and discrimination against women.

BNP Microfinance Affairs Secretary Dr. M A Quayum said that for a long time, there was no democracy, voting rights and freedom of expression in the country. Through the uncompromising long struggle of the country’s leader Begum Khaleda Zia, the people have regained their right to vote. This is a great achievement not only for BNP, but for every person in the country.

The leader of the masses from Dhaka-11 constituency called on the people to exercise their right to vote by going to the polling station on February 12. He said, democracy can be strengthened only by voting. This is our expectation that you will play a role in forming an accountable government by voting for the candidate of your choice.

He also said, if the people elect me by voting with the symbol of the sheaf of rice, then I will work with you for the development of the area, the welfare of the people and building a humane Bangladesh. I do not want to do politics of power, but to work as a servant of the people.

At the end of his speech, Dr. M A Quayum said, BNP’s struggle against all evil forces, corruption and injustice in the country will continue. BNP has never compromised in protecting the rights of the people, the dignity of women and the sovereignty of the country, and will not do so in the future. He called for voting by the grain of rice to build a beautiful, safe and democratic Bangladesh.
