India has resumed the process of issuing business visas for Bangladesh: Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma

India has resumed the issuance of business visas for Bangladeshis. This information was given by Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka Pranay Kumar Verma at the networking and knowledge-sharing event ‘Pharma Connect’ organized at the Indian High Commission premises in Baridhara in the capital on Wednesday (November 19).

Entrepreneurs and high-ranking officials of leading pharmaceutical companies in Bangladesh participated in the event. They called for an early resolution to the long-standing complications in obtaining Indian visas. The industrialists also demanded easier transportation of goods by road between the two countries.

High Commissioner Pranay Verma said that India has been working as a trusted partner in the development of Bangladesh’s pharmaceutical industry for a long time. The strong complementary relationship between the pharmaceutical industries of the two countries will create opportunities for deeper cooperation in the future.

Abdul Muktadir, President of Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceutical Industries (BAPI), said that there is huge potential between India and Bangladesh in research and development (R&D), technology transfer and innovation-based partnerships. He urged industry partners of the two countries to seize this opportunity.
