Standard Chartered Bangladesh Partners with icddr,b to Enhance Reproductive Healthcare in Remote Areas

Standard Chartered Bangladesh has entered into a strategic partnership with icddr,b to implement a transformative project aimed at improving reproductive healthcare services for women and adolescent girls in six remote regions of Bangladesh.

An agreement was formally signed by Naser Ezaz Bijoy, CEO of Standard Chartered Bangladesh, and Dr. Tahmeed Ahmed, Executive Director of icddr,b. Senior representatives from both organisations were also present at the signing ceremony, including Muhit Rahman, Head of Financial Institutions, and Bitopi Das Chowdhury, Head of Corporate Affairs and Brand & Marketing at Standard Chartered Bangladesh.

Under this three-year initiative, the partners will organize 100 medical camps to deliver essential reproductive health services to more than 30,000 adolescents and young women. The services will include cervical cancer screenings alongside other key healthcare support designed to address critical health gaps.

This collaboration reflects Standard Chartered’s ongoing commitment to supporting Bangladesh’s sustainable development goals. Through this initiative, the bank aims to bring vital health services directly to communities living in hard-to-reach areas, ensuring equitable access to healthcare for vulnerable populations.
