Tarique Rahman’s Message on the Occasion of 7 November National Revolution and Solidarity Day

On the occasion of the National Revolution and Solidarity Day, BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman extended his heartfelt greetings and congratulations to the people of Bangladesh. In his message, he highlighted the significance of the 7 November 1975 Sepoy-People’s uprising as a pivotal moment in the country’s history.

Tarique Rahman said, “The Sepoy-People’s revolution safeguarded the nation’s sovereignty and marked the emergence of nationalist politics in Bangladesh. On that historic day, the people took to the streets to protect the country’s independence and revive democracy. The event holds profound historical importance.”

He further recalled that the then-ruling one-party government had destroyed democratic rights. On 3 November 1975, conspirators detained the nation’s freedom advocate Ziaur Rahman. However, on 7 November, a unique surge of unity by the army and the people led to his release and revitalized democracy in the country.

Tarique Rahman emphasized, “Today, it is crucial for all nationalist forces to unite and work for building a strong and vibrant democracy. Preserving national independence and sovereignty is of utmost importance at this moment.”
