No case, harassment for involvement in July uprising: home ministry

The Home Ministry in a statement on Monday (14 October, 2024) said no case, arrest and harassment would be made against those who actively participated in the mass uprising from July 15 to August 8 last.

“A new journey towards building a discrimination-free new Bangladesh has started through the fall of the autocratic fascist government by the student-people mass uprising on August 5 last,” said the statement.

The student-people, who actively worked staying at the field level to make the mass-uprising a success, would not face any case, arrest or harassment for the incidents regarding the mass uprising that took place from July 15 to August 8 last, the statement said.

The Home Ministry has asked the authorities concerned to remain alert at the highest level to this end.

The ministry also asked the authorities concerned to remain alert against those who are getting advantage by spreading untrue information.
