Saudia Inaugurates New State-of-the-Art City Ticketing Office in Dhaka

Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, has officially opened its new state-of-the-art City Ticketing Office in Dhaka, marking a significant milestone in its longstanding presence in Bangladesh.

The new office, located on the 16th floor of Simpletree Attalika, 134 Gulshan Avenue, was inaugurated by Dr. Abdullah Zafer H. Bin Abiyah, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Bangladesh.

He was joined by Mr Musaed Almusaed, Assistant Vice President of International Regions at Saudia Airlines, and Mr Dr Md Nazrul Islam, Secretary (East & West), Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Dr. Abiyah highlighted the deep and historic ties between two brotherly countries Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh, rooted in shared values and friendship.

He expressed confidence that the new facility would further strengthen people-to-people connections, enhance travel convenience, and provide exceptional service to Bangladeshi travelers, including Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.

Dr Nazrul Islam welcomed Saudia’s investment in the Bangladeshi aviation market. “Saudia has been a trusted partner of our aviation sector, and this new investment will further support the growing demand for travel, while reinforcing bilateral ties between our two nations,” he said.

Tarik Alowaidi, Saudia’s Country Manager for Bangladesh, noted that the airline has expanded its flight frequency to meet the growing demands of travelers between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia and beyond. “This investment in our new Dhaka office reflects Saudia’s unwavering commitment to serve our valued customers with greater efficiency, comfort, and accessibility,” he said.

Ahmed Yusuf Walid, Saudia’s General Sales Agent (GSA) in Bangladesh, emphasized that the airline has become a preferred carrier for long-haul travel to Europe and North America, while also providing convenient options for Umrah pilgrims through its streamlined stopover visa program, available via www.saudia.com

Built to international standards, the Gulshan office is Saudia’s most advanced facility in Bangladesh. It offers dedicated counters for general passengers, premium cabin customers, and AlFursan members (the airline’s frequent flyer program). The office also features a dedicated meeting space for travel trade partners, as well as a training and conference room to host product briefings and engagement sessions with travel agents.

The expansion is expected to further improve accessibility, reduce waiting times, and enhance the overall passenger experience. A key feature of the new office is Saudia’s commitment to greater digitalization, aimed at delivering faster and more accurate services to its valued passengers.

In addition to the new Gulshan facility, Saudia will continue operating its existing City Ticketing Offices at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka and at Agrabad in the port city Chattogram.

The opening also coincided with World Tourism Day 2025, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s commitment to promoting its fast-growing tourism sector through the Umrah Plus initiative that invites travelers to combine their spiritual journeys with cultural and leisure experiences across the Kingdom, reflecting its broader vision to become a leading global tourism destination.
