Kosovo Envoy Explores Standards Cooperation with BSTI to Boost Bilateral Trade

Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Bangladesh, Mr. Lulzim Pllana, paid a courtesy visit to the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI), where he met with Mr. S.M. Ferdous Alam, Director General of BSTI.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the prospects for future collaboration between the standardization bodies of Kosovo and Bangladesh, emphasizing the importance of establishing a Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA). The proposed MRA aims to facilitate smoother trade and certification processes, thereby promoting greater access for Kosovar and Bangladeshi products in each other’s markets.

The discussion also explored the potential for Kosovar products in the Bangladeshi market and opportunities to enhance bilateral trade and technical cooperation through harmonized standards and quality assurance systems.

Also present at the meeting were Mr. Md. Nurul Amin, Director (Administration); Mr. Mohammad Arafat Hossain Sarker, Deputy Director (Certification Marks); and Mr. Enamul Hoque, Deputy Director, BSTI.
