British Trade Envoy visits Chittagong to strengthen Bangladesh-UK trade ties

UK investment in Bangladesh is creating local jobs as well as strengthening trade and economic ties between the two countries. During a recent visit to Chittagong, the UK Trade Envoy for Bangladesh visited two important local companies—Unilever Bangladesh and Vancott Limited—which is a key supplier to the UK’s popular clothing brand Primark.

During the visit, the Trade Envoy discussed UK investment in Bangladesh’s industrial and trade sectors, local manufacturing and export potential, and new employment opportunities. He toured the operations of Unilever and Vancott Limited and praised the skills and production capabilities of local workers.

A message from the UK High Commission said that these UK-linked companies are creating quality jobs locally, strengthening mutual trade relations between the two countries, and moving both countries forward on the path of long-term shared prosperity.

Such investment initiatives between Bangladesh and the UK are expected to bring more sustainable development, job creation, and economic growth in the future.
