The Educ8 Group, a renowned international education organisation headquartered in Malaysia, announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI). The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation in education, training and cultural engagement, underscoring the growing partnership between Bangladesh and Malaysia.
Expanding Opportunities for Bangladeshi Students
The MOU will create avenues for Bangladeshi students and families to access high-quality international education in Malaysia. This includes opportunities within Educ8’s schools and programmes, which are anchored by Epsom College Malaysia – the first overseas campus of Epsom College UK, a leading British independent school.
Educ8 blends the tradition of British academic excellence with Asian values, benefitting students from both rigorous academic standards as well as strong cultural and holistic support. Headquartered in Malaysia, the Group places particular emphasis on Muslim-friendly provision, with all schools operating in line with halal standards and accommodating the spiritual and cultural needs of Muslim students in an inclusive environment.
Epsom’s academic strength speaks for itself. In the 2025 examination season, 82% of IGCSE grades and 74% of A-Level grades were A*–B, far surpassing UK averages. These outcomes pave the way to top universities worldwide including Cambridge, Imperial, LSE, Stanford, and Brown for students from over 30 nationalities, including Bangladesh, and highlight the value of this partnership: access to proven academic excellence anchored in cultural understanding and accessibility.
With a growing number of Bangladeshi students choosing Malaysia as their destination for higher education, Educ8 Group is well positioned to meet this demand by providing pathways that combine internationally benchmarked academics, Muslim-friendly provisions, and comprehensive student support.
Strengthening Bangladesh-Malaysia Relations
Under the MOU, Educ8 and BMCCI will collaborate in areas such as student recruitment, knowledge exchange and joint educational initiatives. This partnership aligns with broader efforts to deepen Bangladesh-Malaysia ties by expanding people-to-people connections alongside trade and investment.
Regarding the signing of the MOU, Mark Lankester, CEO of Educ8 Group said, “Bangladesh has a strong tradition of academic ambition and family commitment to education. This agreement with BMCCI allows us to build meaningful pathways for Bangladeshi students while reinforcing Malaysia’s role as a hub for international and Muslim-friendly education.”
Shabbir A. Khan, President of BMCCI stated, “This collaboration reflects BMCCI’s mission to expand opportunities for our members and the wider Bangladeshi community. Education is central to Bangladesh’s future growth, and we are pleased to partner with Educ8 in widening access to trusted international pathways.”
H.E. Mohd Shuhada, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Bangladesh, stated, “Education has always been a cornerstone of Malaysia-Bangladesh relations. This agreement between Educ8 and BMCCI reflects our shared commitment to nurturing the next generation, strengthening cultural ties, and advancing cooperation beyond trade and investment. Malaysia remains a trusted partner for Bangladeshi families seeking international education in a Muslim-friendly environment.”
