Eggs price has started to decrease in the regular operation of the Ministry of Commerce

Two teams of the Ministry of Commerce supervise 2 Kachabazars in the capital to keep the price of daily necessities stable and control the market situation. Meanwhile, the supervisory team fined a total of Tk 4,500 to some companies.

On Saturday (October 11, 2024) morning, surveillance activities were conducted at Shahali City Corporation Market raw material market and Shanir Akhra raw material market in Mirpur of the capital.

The Shahali City Corporation Market Kachabazar supervision team was led by Senior Assistant Secretary Mocha: Fuara Khatun of the Ministry of Commerce. At this time, rice, pulses, potatoes, eggs, vegetables and chicken markets are monitored. Team members verify all purchase and sale receipts including updating the price list. Besides warning the various organizations for not hanging the price list properly, writing and storing it properly, they also fined 1 thousand 500 rupees.

Shop owners and consumers told the monitoring team that the price of eggs has recently decreased by Tk 5 compared to the last few days.

On the other hand, the buying and selling prices of eggs, onions, chillies, chicken and rice and other daily necessities are verified in the capital’s Shanir akhra raw market. It is urged to hang the updated price list of chicken, rice, potato, onion and other products. However, due to lack of up-to-date trade license and price list of some companies, they were fined 3 thousand taka. Officials of the Ministry of Commerce and various departments under its jurisdiction were present in this campaign.
