Bulbul elected president, Faruk and Shakhawat elected vice-presidents in BCB elections

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) directors’ election was held at a hotel in the capital today, Monday (October 6, 2025) from 10 am to 4 pm. A total of 23 directors were elected in three categories. The remaining two directors came from the National Sports Council (NSC). The election results were announced around 6 pm. As there were no competitors in the election, the directors of Khulna, Chittagong, Barisal and Sylhet divisions were elected unopposed. Out of a total of 191 voters, 156 were supposed to vote excluding the divisional voters. However, as many boycotted the election, 115 people finally voted, which is 73.71 percent of the vote.

At the divisional level, Aminul Islam Bulbul and Nazmul Abedin Fahim were elected from Dhaka with 15 votes each. Ahsan Iqbal Chowdhury and Asif Akbar were elected as representatives of the Chittagong division. Zulfiqar Ali Khan was elected along with Abdur Razzak in Khulna. Besides, Mukhlesur Rahman from Rajshahi, Hasanuzzaman from Rangpur, Rahat Sams from Sylhet and Shakhawat Hossain from Barisal division were elected.

Twelve directors were elected in the club category. Ishtiaq Sadeq from Dhanmondi Sports Club, Adnan Rahman Dipan from Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club, Fayazur Rahman from Uttara Cricket Club, Abul Bashar from Prime Doleshwar Cricket Club, Amjad Hossain from Dhaka Spartans Cricket Club, Shanian Tanim from Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club, Mokhchedul Kamal from Golden Eagles Sporting Club, M Nazmul Islam from Talent Hunt Cricket Academy, Faruk Ahmed from Rangers Cricket Academy, Manjur Alam from Regular Sporting Club, Mehrab Alam Chowdhury from Jatrabari Krira Chakra and Iftekhar Rahman Mithu from Vikings Cricket Academy were selected.

Former national cricket captain Khaled Masud Pilot was selected in category number three with 35 votes. M Isfaq Ahsan and Yasir Mohammad Faisal Ashiq were selected from the National Sports Council. In the initial results, Aminul Islam Bulbul was elected as the president, while Nazmul Abedin Fahim and Faruk Ahmed were elected as vice-presidents.
