UK reiterates commitment to free, fair and peaceful elections in Bangladesh

The British High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Sarah Cook, paid a courtesy call on the Chief Election Commissioner, AMM Nasir Uddin. During the meeting, the UK reiterated its commitment to ensuring that Bangladesh’s upcoming national elections are free, fair, credible and peaceful.

They discussed the UK’s support for the electoral process, particularly in civic education programmes for vulnerable and marginalised communities and the training of polling officials.
