BKMEA President Receives Commemorative Book Honoring Late BGMEA Leader Abdullah Hil Rakib

A commemorative book titled “In Loving Memory”, dedicated to the late Senior Vice President of BGMEA, Abdullah Hil Rakib, was handed over to BKMEA President Mohammad Hatem by Rakib’s elder brother Abdullah Hil Nakib, Deputy Managing Director of Team Group, on Wednesday (24 September 2025).

While receiving the book, Mohammad Hatem paid deep respect to Rakib’s contributions and prayed for the eternal peace of his soul. “Abdullah Hil Rakib played a pivotal role in shaping policies and enhancing the global competitiveness of Bangladesh’s apparel sector. His tireless efforts and visionary leadership will continue to inspire us,” the BKMEA President said.

He also pledged that BKMEA would extend full support to carry forward Rakib’s unfinished initiatives and dreams for the industry.

Abdullah Hil Rakib tragically passed away on 9 June 2025 in a drowning incident in Canada. He was the Managing Director of Team Group. Beyond his leadership at BGMEA, Rakib was actively engaged in social and philanthropic work, leaving behind a legacy of service, leadership, and vision for the country’s RMG sector.
