Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur hosts Election Commissioner and MIHAS delegation

The Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur hosted a reception for Bangladesh Election Commissioner Md. Anwarul Islam Sarkar, who is visiting Malaysia, and the Bangladesh delegation participating in the 21st Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2025.

The reception, organized at the High Commission’s Chancery Building on Wednesday (September 17) evening, was attended by Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) Director General-1 Baby Rani Karmakar, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce Muhammad Rehan Uddin, President of Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sabbir A. Khan, members of the chamber and representatives of Bangladeshi business organizations participating in the fair.

Acting High Commissioner Mosammat Shahanara Monika welcomed the guests. Later, a discussion meeting was held in the mission auditorium, which began with a presentation on the activities of the High Commission. After the presentation, the Acting High Commissioner delivered a welcome speech and sincerely thanked the Election Commissioner and the delegation.

Election Commissioner Md. Anwarul Islam Sarkar expressed satisfaction with the mission’s initiative and said that the High Commission has been instructed to provide national identity cards and other services quickly to ensure the voting rights of Bangladeshis living in Malaysia. He called on the officials and employees to perform their duties with honesty, dedication and professionalism.

The delegation and business representatives participating in the Halal Showcase exchanged views with the mission on various issues related to trade and investment. After the discussion, the guests visited various rooms of the new building of the High Commission and the service center under construction. A dinner was organized after the event.
