On Monday (15 September 2025), a delegation of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) led by President Mahmud Hasan Khan met with a team from the United States Trade Representative (USTR) headed by Assistant U.S. Trade Representative Brendan Lynch at the Chief of Mission Residence in Gulshan, Dhaka.
The meeting focused on reducing countervailing duties on exports from Bangladesh to the U.S., strengthening bilateral trade relations, and reforms in labor laws, among other issues of mutual interest.
The BGMEA delegation included Vice President Rezwan Selim, Directors Faisal Samad and Abdus Salam, and Lutfe M. Ayub, Chairman of the Standing Committee on FTA and PTA.
From the U.S. Embassy, Chargé d’Affaires Traci Ann Jacobson and Labor Attaché Leena Khan were present.
