Singapore High Commissioner meets Trade Adviser

Trade Adviser Sheikh Bashiruddin met Singapore’s Non-Resident High Commissioner to Bangladesh Derek Low.

The meeting was held at the Trade Adviser’s office at the Secretariat on Monday (15 September 2025) afternoon.

The meeting discussed in detail various aspects of further developing trade and investment relations between the two countries and increasing mutual cooperation.

The Trade Adviser said that due to its technological excellence, Singapore is a model country in providing services in its own country and outside its country. Bangladesh has a lot to learn from them.

He stressed the importance of increasing trade and investment capacity to ensure opportunities for both countries.

Singapore Ambassador Derek Low said that they are interested in working closely with Bangladesh to increase trade capacity. They will cooperate with Bangladesh to increase technological facilities in service-providing institutions and the skills and capabilities of those engaged in it.

The meeting was attended by Commerce Ministry Secretary Mahbubur Rahman, Singapore High Commission Charge d’Affaires Mitchell Lee, and Commerce Ministry Joint Secretary Shibir Bichitra Barua.
