On Sunday, September 14, a delegation of industrialists from Bangladesh paid a courtesy call on the Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, at his office in Bashundhara, the capital. Present at the meeting were former advisor to the caretaker government and managing director of Square Group, Mr. Tapan Chowdhury, BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan, BKMEA President Mohammad Hatem, Bangladesh Employers Federation President Fazle Shamim Ehsan, BGMEA Director Saifullah Mansur, BGMEA One Stop Service Cell Chairman Mr. Mozammel Haque Bhuiyan, and Public Relations and Publicity Committee Chairman Masud Kabir. Jamaat’s Industry and Commerce Wing President Shahidul Islam, Secretary General Dr. Anwarul Azim, and eminent physician Dr. Khaliduzzaman were also present.
The meeting discussed the prospects of Bangladesh’s industrial and commercial sector, new investments and their environment, and contemporary challenges, especially the Labor Act 2025. The industrial owners called on all political parties to maintain stability in the country’s industrial factories and provide overall cooperation. In response, the Ameer-e-Jamaat stressed the importance of improving labor-owner relations to protect the country’s industries and keep the economy running. The Ameer-e-Jamaat expressed his thanks and gratitude to the industrial owners for coming to meet him to take a physical check-up.
