Canada, Australia and BRAC jointly support employment opportunities for disadvantaged youth

Ajit Singh, the High Commissioner of Canada to Bangladesh, said that the joint initiative of Canada, Australia and BRAC is making a significant contribution to creating employment opportunities for disadvantaged youth.

During a visit to the BRAC Institute of Skills Development and Career Hub in Chittagong, he exchanged views with trained participants and heard about their successes and challenges. During this visit, he said, “The extraordinary activities here are helping young people, especially women, to join the labor market, which is truly empowering them.”

Through a strategic partnership between Canada, BRAC and Australia, women, as well as disabled and disadvantaged youth, are being helped to acquire technical and work skills. These joint initiatives are moving young people towards decent employment, especially in non-traditional sectors.
