We want to ensure a level playing field for trade: Trade Advisor

Trade Advisor Sheikh Bashiruddin said, trade facilitation will be ensured by finding out unnecessary regulations related to trade and reviewing the rules and regulations governing trade.

He made these remarks in his speech as the chairman of the ninth meeting of the National Trade Facilitation Committee (NTFC) organized by the Ministry of Commerce at the Biam Foundation Multipurpose Hall in Dhaka on Monday (September 1) afternoon.

He said, through trade facilitation, we will establish justice and create a level playing field, through which our trade volume and economic capacity will increase.

The advisor said, we want an efficient trade regime, through which our national economy will improve greatly and which will also serve as a major platform for equitable distribution of wealth.

We definitely want to reduce tax evasion, at the same time we want to develop skills. He mentioned that the activities of the customs authority are being automated, which will make import and export easier.

National Board of Revenue Chairman Abdur Rahman Khan, Commerce Ministry Secretary Mahbubur Rahman, Bangladesh Trade and Tariff Commission Chairman Dr. Mainul Khan, National Skill Development Authority Executive Chairman Dr. Nazneen Kawsar, FBCCI Administrator Md. Hafizur Rahman, EPB Vice Chairman Md. Abdur Rahim Khan, Commerce Ministry Additional Secretary (FTA) Ayesha Akhter and other committee members were present in the meeting.
