World Population Day 2025 was celebrated in Bangladesh on Monday (July 14, 2025) with due respect. This year’s significant theme was: “Empowering Youth to Build Families of Choice in a Just and Prosperous World”.

UNFPA Bangladesh Representative Catherine Brin Kamkong highlighted the importance of respecting and supporting the choices and decisions of young people. She described the revision of the National Population Policy led by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare as an important step towards human rights, freedom of choice and inclusive development.
Although Bangladesh has made significant progress in reproductive health, many adolescents and young people still face barriers to access quality health care, life skills education and decent employment.

UNFPA is committed to working with all stakeholders to empower young people, reduce child marriage and teenage pregnancy, and develop youth leadership.
