Advisor to the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Asif Nazrul has emphasized on ensuring the protection of the reforms brought by the interim government, saying that future progress must be built on the basis of these achievements.
Speaking at a program organized at Hotel Intercontinental on Wednesday (December 10, 2025) on the occasion of International Human Rights Day, he said, “When we talk about reforms, a common frustration arises – what will happen when the next political government comes? Will these reforms be lost? I want to say for sure – two things will never be lost.
Terming the restoration of the caretaker government system and the establishment of the Supreme Court Secretariat by the interim government as completely protected reforms, Dr. Asif Nazrul said that the caretaker system is protected by a Supreme Court ruling, “there is no possibility of it being repealed.”
Regarding the Supreme Court Secretariat, he said that the Supreme Court itself will act as the guardian of this law.
Also present at the event were – Adilur Rahman Khan, Advisor to the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Syeda Rizwana Hassan, Advisor to the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Stefan Liler, Senior UNDP Official, and Alberto Giovannetti, Head of Political, Economic and Communication Affairs of the Swiss Embassy, among others.
