50 special rickshaws decorated in red, white, and blue have been inaugurated in Dhaka to mark the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. This initiative celebrates the independence of the United States and reflects the existing partnership and friendly relations between Bangladesh and the United States.
The United States Embassy Dhaka in Dhaka said this in a statement on Wednesday (May 20, 2026).
The rickshaws that have been inaugurated have been specially designed and decorated in the colors of the US national flag—red, white, and blue. These traditional rickshaws will ply on the streets of Dhaka, which is not only a commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States, but also a symbol of the long-standing and strong friendship between the people of the two countries.
The statement further said that such cultural and symbolic initiatives will play a role in deepening and engaging the mutual relations between Bangladesh and the United States.
