UKBCCI Held a press conference to strengthen UK-Bangladesh bilateral trade relationship

A press conference were hosted by the UK Bangladesh Catalysts of Commerce and Industry (UKBCCI), under the leadership of Chairman Iqbal Ahmed OBE DBA and President MG Mowla Mia MBE, to honor the visiting UKBCCI delegation to Bangladesh. This initiative aims to strengthen the bilateral trade relationship between the UK and Bangladesh.

The event was graced by the presence of former Commerce Minister and BNP Standing Committee Member Mr. Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury as the chief guest. The welcome address was delivered by UKBCCI’s Bangladesh Regional President and BTMA President Mr. Shawkot Aziz Russel. Other distinguished speakers included UKBCCI Chairman Iqbal Ahmed OBE DBA, UKBCCI President MG Mowla Mia MBE, BGMEA Administrator Mr. Anwar Hossain, BKMEA President Mr. Mohammad Hatem, FBCCI Administrator Mr. Md. Hafizur Rahman, and House of Commons MP Ms. Rupa Huq.

The conference highlighted the importance of UKBCCI’s 2025 Trade Mission to Bangladesh, which focuses on exploring new avenues for strengthening bilateral trade partnerships. During the mission, the delegation is set to engage with prominent trade organizations and interim government advisors in Bangladesh.

Speaking on the significance of the mission, UKBCCI Bangladesh Regional President Shawkot Aziz Russel said, “Bangladesh is globally recognized for its strong manufacturing capabilities and is a leading hub for garment exports. This mission aims to leverage the country’s competitive edge in the global export market while fostering innovation in design and production.”

UKBCCI, a leading organization of British-Bangladeshi entrepreneurs, has been instrumental in enhancing bilateral trade between the UK and Bangladesh. The 2025 Trade Mission seeks to not only strengthen existing partnerships but also uncover new collaboration opportunities, further solidifying the economic ties between the two nations.
