UK supports Interim Government of Bangladesh: British Ambassador

British High Commissioner in Dhaka Sarah Cook said on Wednesday (August 14) that the United Kingdom welcomed the interim government of Bangladesh led by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus. Britain has support for this new government of Bangladesh.

He said, ‘UK has support for the interim government of Bangladesh. Because this government is working to restore peace, ensure accountability, create an inclusive peaceful path and ensure a prosperous and democratic future for the people of Bangladesh.

Advisor to the foreign affairs of the interim government in Cook capital. He made this comment during an interview with Touhid Hossain.

According to a press release published by the British High Commission, in the meeting, the High Commissioner and the Adviser discussed how the UK can help the interim government to move Bangladesh towards a democratic and prosperous future and other issues of mutual interest, including the Rohingya. They also discussed the strong and enduring relationship between the United States and Bangladesh. This relationship stands firmly on the basis of deep people-to-people ties and common commonwealth values.

“We are deeply saddened by the recent violence and loss of life,” Cook said. We recognize the courage of the students and many others who have protested peacefully to build a different future for Bangladesh.”
