Desk Report:
A three-member panel of judges and the prosecution team of the International Crimes Tribunal-1 have visited the Rapid Action Battalion’s (RAB) Task Force for Interrogation (TFI) cell, known to the general public as the ‘mirror room’, in Uttara, the capital.
They visited the TFI cell located at the RAB-1 head office in Uttara around 11 am on Saturday (August 1, 2026). The visit was undertaken as part of the judicial proceedings related to allegations of human rights violations, enforced disappearances and physical torture.
The visiting panel of judges included International Crimes Tribunal-1 Chairman Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Majumder, member Justice Md. Shafiul Alam Mahmud and judge Md. Mohitul Haque Enam Chowdhury.
Present at the time was the Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal, Md. Aminul Islam. The members of the prosecution team included Prosecutor Mizanul Islam, Gazi MH Tamim, Faruk Ahmed, Shaikh Mahdi, Shahidul Islam Sardar and Tasmirul Islam, along with relevant officials.
The lawyers of the accused were also present during the inspection to ensure the transparency of the judicial process.
