Trade Advisor call on Businessman to work for sake of Country

Finance and Trade Adviser called upon businessmen to work for the sake of the country and not for personal gain. Salehuddin Ahmed.

He said this in a meeting with a delegation of Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) at the conference room of the Ministry of Finance at the Planning Commission on Tuesday (August 27).

The trade advisor said that many stories of growth and per capita income have been told to people in the past. Leaving the city of Dhaka and going to the villages, that growth is no longer found.

He said, in fact, there was a waste of money. Projects that were not needed were taken up. He added that the work of five rupees was given for ten rupees to give illegal benefits.
The leaders of BGMEA said that the driving force of Bangladesh’s economy is the garment sector. In the current context, the sector will suffer without cash support. At this time, they ask the government for cash assistance as well as loan assistance.
The leaders said that the business community has confidence and trust in the current advisory council. The garment industry owners will provide all kinds of cooperation for the development of the country.

Commerce Secretary Mohang Salim Uddin, BGMEA President Khandaker Rafiqul Islam, former President Kazi Moniruzzaman, First President Syed Nazrul Islam and others were present.

Later the advisor interacted with a delegation of International Chambers of Commerce of Bangladesh (ICCB).

Commerce Ministry Secretary Mohang Salim Uddin, ICCB President Mahbubur Rahman, Vice President AK Azad, BKME President Mohammad Hatim, BGMEA President Khandaker Rafiqul Islam, Mir Instruction Managing Director Mir Nasir Uddin, Square Textile Managing Director Tapan Chowdhury and Swapna Bhowmik, Country Director of Mark & ​​Spencer participated in the discussion.

Later, the trade adviser answered various questions from the media persons.
In response to a question, the trade advisor said, I have told the businessmen that they do honest business with transparency, we will cooperate. Under the table will not work. If they (businessmen) take one step forward in the good work of good people, we will take two steps forward.

In response to another question, he said, to attract more private investment, the business environment must be improved in Bangladesh. The condition for this is to make the business environment, business easier. That is, we have to fix the business environment, otherwise the private sector will not come, he said.

He also said, we want business to improve. The UK government has been very supportive in the past and I hope they will continue to be supportive in the future.
